Hickeys Lake
There is a little spot along Zimin Drive that for a while there over
the wet season it was affectionately known as "Hickeys Lake".
According to some old locals they have seen water pouring up from the
sinkholes like a fountain in the area back in the 70's. I have been
for a run through the area back in my Hash House Harriers times and
know the place is honeycombed with caves and holes in the ridges.
During the Katherine Flood, water "crept" into the area and stayed for
months. I saw about 200 pelicans there one day. |
