Located about 20 km from Katherine
off Florina Road (Down Cossack Rd) you will find another hidden
Gem of the Katherine River. Out here in Katherine's rural
community the Katherine River provides a set of rapids which end
in a plunge pool that you will usually find a few people dipping
a few fishing lines in.

A shady, rocky and sandy spot , you can
continue on downstream to find your own little piece of
countryside to relax in and watch the pristine Katherine River
flow past. ( You might even get to say g’day to canoeists
enjoying the River from the water).
There is another little
grassy spot about a kilometre down from Galloping Jacks called
Crystal Rapids, much the same peace and tranquility you would
expect in the Katherine Region outback.
Many an evening with the kids & a bbq, or a morning tea on the
picnic blanket and rarely a person about.
Make it you own for a few hours !
